New INMETRO Label

Refrigerators have revolutionized the way humanity interacts in society, with the possibility of preserving food safer and for longer.

Responsible for around 22% of the energy bill, it is the main passive consumer in a home and the search for more efficient equipment is a matter of necessity.

In this context, the labeling policy of Inmetro - Instituto Nacional de Metrologia is essential to communicate to the population about the performance and energy efficiency parameters of an appliance.

Recently, the Brazilian Labeling Program (PBE) updated the model for refrigerators, introducing three new subclasses, namely: A+++, A++ and A+. This shows, respectively, a reduction in energy consumption of 30%, 20% and 10%, compared to the old class “A”.

The objective is to highlight to the consumer which product actually uses less energy and also encourage the industry to develop more efficient technologies.

PCN Latin America, as a certifying body, is a partner of INMETRO in the operation of the PBE.
