Between October 1st and 10th, the joint annual agenda of the International Accreditation Forum Inc. and the INTERNATIONAL LABORATORY ACCREDITATION CO-OPERATION (ILAC) will take place in Berlin, Germany.
The accreditation bodies that have signed the agreements promoted by these two institutions make up, on an international scale, the most significant network of multilateral recognition for conformity assessment services, including: certifications, inspections, laboratory tests, among others.
During this period, highly specialized professionals will meet in technical committees, working groups and assemblies, with the aim of addressing and deliberating on issues relevant to the community and the conformity assessment segment. Among the planned agendas, the merger process of these institutions stands out, which will culminate in the creation of a single entity, to be called GLOBAC – an acronym for Global Accreditation.
PCN Latin America CEO Kim Rieffel will participate in the event, representing ABRAC - Brazilian Association for Conformity Assessment, which is an active member of the stakeholder committee. The Brazilian delegation will also include Israel Teixeira from LABELO Specialized Laboratories for Conformity Assessment and Andrea Melo, president of the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC) and head of the New Accreditation Programs Development Division at the General Coordination of Accreditation of Inmetro - National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology.
