Last month, Inmetro - National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology carried out the "Energy Efficiency" operation, in which it inspected household appliances throughout the country, with the aim of evaluating the actual performance of products in comparison to the energy consumption and efficiency values declared by manufacturers in the ENCE's - National Energy Conservation Labels.
This and other market surveillance actions carried out by Inmetro are important to protect consumer rights and promote fair competition among manufacturers.
Through these inspections, more than 23 thousand products were evaluated through visual inspections and laboratory tests, contributing to a safer and more sustainable consumer environment.
The technical approval procedures provided for by the regulations of Inmetro and the Ministry of Mines and Energy allow consumers to have access to reliable information on the energy consumption of products, as well as to ensure that their operation does not pose risks to their health and safety.
Actions like this are part of a large quality infrastructure environment in which PCN Latin America is inserted through its product certification services in the areas of energy efficiency, user safety and electromagnetic compatibility.
