Energy efficiency and sustainability

Yesterday, Inmetro published Ordinance No. 500/2024 in the DOU - Official Gazette of the Union, formalizing cross-cutting guidelines associated with the PBE - Brazilian Labeling Program.

The publication of this document, named PBE Transversal, was the result of collaborative work, led by a committed and qualified team of employees from Inmetro - National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology. As part of this collaboration, sector panels, international benchmarking and a visit to the Manaus free trade zone, an important manufacturing hub for products evaluated under the program, were carried out.

The PBE and actions to promote technological innovation enable the production and marketing of products with greater energy efficiency, which generates savings for consumers and reduces the carbon footprint associated with the use of such equipment. We can therefore state that product compliance with the technical requirements of the PBE contributes to the Brazilian population having access to higher quality and more efficient products, moving towards a more sustainable scenario.

PCN Latin America has a scope accredited by Inmetro's Cgcre for the certification of a series of products for domestic and commercial use, based on user safety, energy efficiency and electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
