Approval of the Ecodesign Regulation in the European Community and the Green Seal in Brazil The Council of the European Union took a significant step towards sustainability with the approval of the Ecodesign regulation. This new legislation aims to reduce the environmental impact of products throughout their life cycle, encouraging the production of more durable, repairable and recyclable items. This not only benefits the environment, but also consumers and the economy by promoting better quality, lower cost products in the long term.
In Brazil, the recently launched Selo Verde Brasil Program by the MDIC certifies products and services of sustainable origin, encouraging industries to adopt responsible environmental practices. This initiative is crucial to promoting sustainability in production and consumption, ensuring that products meet strict environmental responsibility criteria.
PCN Latin America is aligned with these advances through its Solid Waste Management Program (PGRS), accredited by Inmetro - National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology. This program helps companies implement efficient waste management practices, contributing to reducing environmental impact and promoting the circular economy. PCN's PGRS is essential to support companies in adapting to new Ecodesign regulations and Green Seal requirements, ensuring they are at the forefront of sustainability.
These three initiatives – the Ecodesign regulation in Europe, the Green Seal in Brazil and the PCN PGRS – work together to create an environment where sustainability is the norm, not the exception. They provide tangible benefits, such as reducing waste, conserving natural resources and promoting a greener and more resilient economy.
