Anvisa Participated in BRICS Meeting with Medical Product Regulatory Authorities

ANVISA took part in the annual meeting of the group of medical product regulatory authorities from the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa), held in Moscow. The meeting focused on strengthening technical cooperation among the countries, highlighting actions on regulatory convergence and sanitary inspection and control mechanisms.

During the meeting, proposals were discussed to promote technical alignment in the areas of registration, monitoring, and inspection of medical devices, medicines, and vaccines. Regulatory challenges related to new technologies and the harmonization of requirements among national health surveillance systems were also addressed.

The Brazilian delegation presented experiences regarding the role of regulation in providing access to safe and effective technologies, as well as the importance of collaborative strategies to respond to health emergencies and promote innovation in the health sector.
