32nd General Assembly of the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC)

The CEO of PCN Latin America and Vice President of Telecommunications at ABRAC - Brazilian Association for Conformity Assessment, Kim Rieffel, attended the 32nd General Assembly of the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC), held this week in Medellín, Colombia.

Chaired by Andrea Melo, an employee of Inmetro - National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology, this event represents a milestone in the annual calendar of the segment in the Americas, bringing together leaders and experts from across the continent to discuss and define the direction of accreditation in the region.

During the assembly, important topics such as harmonization of criteria, innovation in accreditation processes, flexible scopes, the use of artificial intelligence and the strengthening of international partnerships were addressed.

Kim, who is part of the stakeholder committee led by Israel Teixeira and José Luis Ogando, will be responsible for the Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity Working Group, which will seek solutions for the use of tools in accreditation and conformity assessment processes.

The Brazilian delegation, in addition to Kim, Israel and Andrea, also included Paulo H. Bertolini.
