Before purchasing an electric rice cooker, you should check whether the product is certified by Inmetro - National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology and, therefore, that it has been tested for its electrical safety and compliance aspects, for example, for potential contamination. In addition, ABRAC reminds you that simple actions such as avoiding the use of an inappropriate extension cord, fixing the cooker on a level surface and properly cleaning the electrical parts can prevent accidents and increase the useful life of the appliance.
The certification of electrical products, regulated by Ordinance hashtag#Inmetro nº 148/2022, ensures that the devices meet technical safety requirements, protecting consumers against the risks of short circuits, overheating and electrical insulation failures. To avoid problems, always consult the manufacturer's manual and use only parts and accessories recommended for the model purchased.
