Non-certified Products: An Invisible Risk for Consumers and Telecommunications Networks
Anatel — the Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency — has announced yet another ongoing action to curb the presence of equipment that jeopardizes user safety and the integrity of Brazilian networks.
Non-certified products — such as routers, headphones, chargers, and mobile phones — do not undergo mandatory technical testing, which means they may present serious performance issues, interference with essential services, and even physical risks such as overheating and electric shocks. In addition, many of these devices operate outside the established radiofrequency limits, harming the quality of mobile and fixed communications across the country.
Anatel’s certification is a guarantee that the product meets current safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and regulatory requirements. Ignoring this requirement is a risk that can be costly for both consumers and the industry — which suffers from unfair competition and a loss of market reliability.
PCN Latin America acts as a Certification Body designated by Anatel, committed to promoting safe and compliant products. By choosing certified devices, consumers, retailers, and manufacturers contribute to a safer, more reliable, and responsible digital environment.
