Anatel reinforces that only certified TV Boxes may be marketed and used in Brazil

Anatel maintains the requirement that TV Boxes and telecommunications signal reception equipment may only be marketed and used in Brazil when duly certified by the Agency. Certification ensures that products comply with technical requirements, electrical safety standards, electromagnetic compatibility rules, and proper use of the radiofrequency spectrum.

According to current regulations, there is no general authorization for unrestricted use of TV Boxes. The legality of each device depends on its individual certification. Non-certified products remain subject to inspection actions, seizure, and removal from the market, as they may pose risks to users, telecommunications networks, and the regular use of the spectrum.

Anatel provides the public with the official list of certified products, enabling direct verification of the compliance status of TV Boxes, receivers, and other telecommunications equipment prior to purchase or commercialization. This database is the primary reliable reference for consumers, importers, and retailers.

Verification can be carried out through the Agency’s official system using the manufacturer’s name, model, or certification number, ensuring transparency and regulatory security.
