Anatel regulatory agenda for the 2025-2026 biennium

Anatel has released its Regulatory Agenda for the 2025-2026 biennium, highlighting crucial issues for the telecommunications sector in Brazil.

Main highlights of the agenda:

  • Auction of the 700 MHz band: Scheduled for 2025, this auction aims to expand the supply of mobile services and improve coverage in remote areas, optimizing the use of the available spectrum.
  • Review of the General Competition Goals Plan (PGMC): The update of the competition rules seeks to promote a more balanced and competitive environment in the sector, encouraging innovation and improving the services offered to consumers.
  • Update of the Spectrum Usage Regulation (RUE): The review of the rules for the use of the radio spectrum aims to ensure more efficient and flexible management of frequencies, meeting emerging technological demands and ensuring the quality of services.
  • Definition of User Duties: The development of regulations that establish the rights and responsibilities of users aims to promote a more transparent and balanced relationship between consumers and telecommunications service providers.

Anatel also presented the 2025-2026 Tactical Management Plan, which details the strategic initiatives to achieve the objectives established in the regulatory agenda.
