Anatel advances in spectrum modernization and prepares Brazil for TV 3.0

Anatel – National Telecommunications Agency – has announced progress in the process of modernizing the use of the radiofrequency spectrum, with a focus on preparing the country for the implementation of TV 3.0. The initiative is part of a set of regulatory and technical actions aimed at updating the television broadcasting model in Brazil.

According to the Agency, ongoing activities include technical studies, reorganization of spectrum use, and the assessment of solutions that enable efficient coexistence between existing services and future technologies associated with TV 3.0. The objective is to enable a planned transition, ensuring service continuity, efficient spectrum use, and support for technological innovation.

TV 3.0 is expected to incorporate features such as improved image and sound quality, interactivity, internet connectivity, and new service delivery models, requiring regulatory and technical adjustments in the broadcasting environment. Anatel’s actions aim to create the necessary conditions for this evolution, in alignment with public policies and industry stakeholders.
