Inmetro and Eletros discuss regulatory advances and competitiveness of the electrical and appliance sector

The Inmetro - National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology received, this month, representatives of Eletros - National Association of Manufacturers of Electrical Products to debate the next steps in the regulatory modernization of the sector. The meeting has as a focus or strengthening the competitiveness of the national industry, the simplification of processes and the adaptation of regulation to technological innovations, especially in household appliances and electronic equipment.

Among the topics discussed are the updating of technical requirements, the paths for greater energy efficiency and the strategies to increase consumer confidence in products marketed in Brazil. A rapprochement between the public and private sectors aims to guarantee that standards accompany the reality of the industry, contributing to a more agile, trustworthy and aligned environment with international standards.

Compliance testing remains a central element of the agenda, ensuring that products meet safety, performance and sustainability criteria.
