“Inmetro in the Palm of Your Hand” – More transparency and access to technical information with the new app
The Brazilian Federal Government, through the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) and Inmetro – the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology – has launched the app “Inmetro in the Palm of Your Hand”, a digital tool that allows consumers to quickly access information about certified products and regulated services. The initiative strengthens the right to information, promotes conscious consumption, and reinforces trust in Brazil’s quality infrastructure.
With the new app, users can easily check whether a product has valid certification, access technical data, and learn about the safety and performance requirements established by regulations. The app also provides educational content about Inmetro’s role, its services, and how quality infrastructure protects consumers, strengthens industry, and fosters responsible innovation.
This initiative represents a major step forward in the digitalization of public services and the transparency of conformity assessment. By bringing technical information closer to the population, Inmetro plays a strategic role not only as a regulator but also as a facilitator in connecting citizens with the tools that ensure the quality of the products we use every day.
Initiatives like this bring society closer to the benefits of certification and promote greater awareness of the role of accredited bodies and conformity marks.
